Ah, of course we know that you, in pursuit of your quest for absolute progressive rock knowledge, have been reading all the reviews posted on Progfreaks.com this last month. In case you haven't though, we want to help you find the records that you should buy in the near future and the reviews that you may want to read in case you are lacking enough time to read the others. At any rate, you should stop doing something useful with your life and start reading up, because...well, just trust us, ok?

DFA - Work In Progress Live: Symphonic rock with awesome fusion excursions, an incredible live sound, and one of the coolest opening songs I've heard in a while
Michael Harris - Sketches From the Thought Chamber: Instrumental guitar-driven album that's very high on intelligence and technique, and very low on nonsense.
Pain of Salvation - The Perfect Element, Pt.1: Only CD to get a 5 out of everyone here at Progfreaks.com. Need I say more?
Sonus Umbra - Snapshots From Limbo: If you can get past the production and the uneventful vocals, you'll end up digging this.
Threshold - Hypothetical: A great album with a horrible ballad. Nothing really new here, but it's plain enjoyable to listen to.
Carl Weingarten - Blue Faith: Cinematic world fusion that is elegant, experimental, and passionate at the same time.
Tool - Lateralus
"The band implements an intense prog ambience throughout the entire record, freeing themselves from any pre-established limits or parameters without forsaking their identity, signature sound & ideals. Tool is a pioneer and one of the few bands capable of flourishing outside trends or styles, stretching themselves without boundaries to the farthest corners of the mind."
Radiohead - Amnesiac
"Radiohead have the capability to reinvent themselves completely through each of their albums, one of the true characteristics that many 'prog' bands lack entirely. One can clearly notice the evolution the band has achieved with this new album, always managing to breakthrough within their style and bring new musical ideas to the forefront."
Marillion - Anoraknophobia
"Marillion are back on track. This release is undoubtedly their best achievement since Afraid Of Sunlight, with the band showing no signs of ever slowing down. If you had lost your faith in these guys, you better regain those beliefs... this is re-incarnation at its best."
Katatonia - Last Fair Deal Gone Down
"The band has reached a point of impressive maturity in its sound and songwriting approach. In more ways than one, comparing the band to most metal outfits currently out there would be rather impertinent. Last Fair Deal Gone Down is a masterpiece waiting to be found with musical insights into the inherent darkness of the soul, conveyed though well thought-out, sometimes deeply metaphorical, concepts. If there's an album to buy for people with a love of music in a broad perspective, it's this one."
Opeth - Blackwater Park
"Opeth's music shatters the limit-bearing definition of metal and explores the horizons of progressive and symphonic styles quite extensively. One of the most innovative and groundbreaking outfits out there. A definite recommendation for open-minded listeners who are willing to look beyond the superficial death metal cliché and listen to deeply emotional music."
The Gathering - If_Then_Else
"If_Then_Else is written with such an amazing way of embracing atmospheric synth layers, powerful processed guitars, and laid-back grooves, that it transcends most of the band's previous work. Going beyond all the demands placed upon it, The Gathering is one of the few pursuers of new musical perspectives, willing to explore every possible boundary within its means. "
No-Man: Returning Jesus - Pop and spacey atmospheres merge into one of the year's trippiest and most palatable records.
Pendragon: Not of This World - After the magnum opus The Masquerade Overture, Pendragon does it yet again!
Pallas: The Cross and the Crucible - Neo-prog stalwarts return with yet another great record full of memorable choruses, melodies, music, and ambitious lyrics.
Filoritmia: Filoritmia - Italian progressive rock that's highly accesible, completely unforgettable, and utterly unique.
Porcupine Tree: Recordings - A collection of B-sides, unreleased versions and never-heard before songs from one of progressive rock's best bands ever.
Flower Kings: Space Revolver - Symphonic rock the way it should be: grandiose, complex, and bombastic.
